Linking the 2025 data of international students at Antalya Bilim University (nationality, faculty, department, programme and year of study) to a world map in a Geographic Information Systems environment; revealing student density at global and continental scales through thematic maps; and building a spatial database in which student information can be queried by country and department.
Because international student data are usually kept in tables, it is difficult to see at a glance which regions students come from and which programmes they are concentrated in. This study aimed to make the university's 2025 international student profile visible from a spatial perspective. To this end, each student's nationality was linked on the map together with their faculty, department, programme and year of study, making it possible to query which faculties and departments students from each country prefer. The study provides a basis for identifying regions where students are concentrated and regions not yet represented, for planning department-level promotion and student recruitment activities, and for the data-driven development of the university's internationalisation strategies.
